A young mountain biker had a serious ‘off’ whilst descending Spooney Green Lane near the foot of Latrigg. Keswick MRT were initially called to help with the casualty but were stood down as he was already in the care of a team doctor and other medical professionals. A short time later the team were called out again to secure the landing site on Crow Park for Coast Guard Rescue 199 who were called to transfer the casualty to the RVI in Newcastle. Apologies to the chap who thought he’d found the ideal spot to bivouac on Crow Park and then got a rude awakening prior to the arrival of the helicopter.
