Sprinkling Tarn (103)

Callout Date: 02/12/2023
Callout Time: 10:18 pm
Agencies Involved: Keswick MRT, Cockermouth MRT

A man camping at Sprinkling Tarn on Seathwaite Fell was reported as being unwell with vomiting, shivering and headache. Information received was sparse, coming via SMS from the Northern Ireland ambulance service and therefore difficult to obtain further details. Direct communication with the man also proved difficult.

Due to the possibility of a long stretcher carry and being low on numbers Cockermouth MRT were asked to assist. The teams ascended Grains Gill but when they reached the casualty’s tent at Sprinkling Tarn, he said he had been feeling hypothermic but had now recovered. He hadn’t realised his message had been received and acted on. Glad that the man was feeling well the teams left the him in his tent and returned to the vehicles.

Many thanks to Cockermouth for turning out.
