After completing a rescue at Stile End (callout #6) a team was dispatched to Goat Crag in Borrowdale to help recover a crag-fast sheep. Although not counted in our tally of rescues the same skills apply, in this case technical rope rigging. One of the team was lowered and managed to secure the sheep before being lowered again to the base of the crag.
If the sheep had been aware of the safety advice in our new website it may have been better equipped and avoided this navigational error. To be fair the sheep was dressed appropriately and was able to live off the land.
When asked about the experience the sheep’s only reply was baaaaaad.
